RAW INK* SAFETY
IS RAW INK* SAFE?
Yes, our non-permanent tattoos use a plant-based ink known as genipin. Indigenous tribes from the Amazon have been using this fruit-based ink to tattoo their skin for thousands of years!
Our products have been tested for product safety to ensure that they meet the cosmetic regulatory requirements.
RAW INK* formulations contain ingredients you may not have used on your skin before. While it's rare, there's a small risk of allergic reaction upon application (or of sensitization through repeated use) - please note this is similar to any new product you may apply topically.
If in the rare case you experience any form of physical discomfort or irritability as a result of our tattoos, please contact your doctor and email so we can help!
If you have sensitive skin or are prone to allergies, it's always a good idea to do a small patch test using one of our small tattoos. You can also learn more about our Caution Statement below.
IS RAW INK* SAFE FOR KIDS?
Our products have been tested for product safety to ensure that they meet the cosmetic regulatory requirements.
However, we recommend using discretion when applying these products to very sensitive skin, including younger skin (e.g., young children and infants). Similar to any new product you may apply topically, there is a small risk of allergic reaction.
We recommend all customers (especially if you have sensitive skin or are prone to allergies) do a small patch test using one of our 1x1 inch tattoos.
Although anyone can purchase RAW INK*, we strongly recommend our products for customers who are 18+.
CAN I TATTOO PERMANENTLY OVER RAW INK*?
We often get asked this question in our comments or via emails.
With that being said, we do not recommend getting a permanent tattoo and using RAW INK* as a stencil to tattoo on. Real tattoos are done with different brands of ink (all containing different components & compounds), and we do not recommend mixing these inks together.
To ensure the safety of your skin, please wait forRAW INK* tattoos to 100% fade before getting a permanent tattoo.
IS RAW INK* SAFE DURING PREGNANCY OR BREASTFEEDING?
We always recommend consulting your doctor before using if pregnant or breastfeeding.
